Even though Windows 7 is said to be more stable than Windows Vista and Windows XP, number of bugs in Windows 7 have been identified after Official Windows 7 release. Fix for Windows 7 bugs like black screen of death, hibernation error, endless reboot, WMP 12 video flickering etc are already posted here.
Compared to Windows XP & Vista, BSOD aka blue screen of death annoyance is very less with Windows 7 but that does not mean Windows 7 is full proof to BSOD error. Recently Microsoft has noted Windows 7 may crash with blue screen of death error for no apparent reason followed by error message “STOP: 0x0000000A.”
Computer running Windows 7 occasionally crashes after it runs for some time. You receive a Stop error message with blue screen. The Stop error message resembles the following: STOP: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUA
Microsoft has better explanation with technical jargon on this issue, anyways affected users may head over to Microsoft support site and get the hotfix to fix Windows 7 BSOD error, use below download link.

How To Uninstall IE9 in Windows 7 & Vista

Microsoft reported over 2 million IE9 beta downloads during the first two days. While the browser is good, it’s not without problems. For example, reliable IE8 testing becomes impossible without an additonal real or virtual PC. IE9 also renders XML as plain text without error checking. I also experienced frequent crashes when launching an IE-specific system which was critical for my work. It’s still a beta so we can forgive Microsoft for the browser’s shortcomings and uninstall if required. Or can we? IE9 does not appear within “Programs and Features” in the Control Panel!

Fortunately, Microsoft has not been cruel — you can remove the browser without an OS re-installation. Follow the steps below:

Close all your applications.
Open the Control Panel and proceed to Programs and Features.
Click View Installed Updates in the left-hand task pane.
Scroll to the bottom and you’ll find Windows Internet Explorer 9. Double-click it, and click Yes at the “Are you sure you want to uninstall this update?” prompt.
Follow the instructions and reboot when prompted.

The whole process will take 5-10 minutes depending on the speed of your PC. IE7/8 will be back in its full glory.

Microsoft Offers Web Designers Free Tools to Build and Host New Websites

Microsoft has been working hard to get their software tools in the hands of people who are starting out new ventures, and these efforts have been widely well-received.

For instance, the DreamSpark program has provided design and development tools to students worldwide free of charge, while the BizSpark program has provided licenses for the same set of tools to software startups for a mere token fee of $100.

Now there a new Website Spark program from Microsoft that is aimed at web professionals and small web development companies who are involved in designing websites and other web-based applications.

Eligibility Criteria for Website Spark

If you build websites for your clients and have no more than 10 people working for you (including owners and employees), you are eligible to sign up for the Website Spark program.

The only restriction is that you must launch a new website or service within 6 months of getting accepted into the program that is built using the tools that you received through WebsiteSpark.

Software Tools included in the Program

If you agree, you will be offered licenses for Visual Studio, Expression Studio, Expression Web, Windows Web Server, and SQL Server Web Edition for three years. You can purchase the licenses at the end of three years or simply exit the program.

There are no up-front costs but youll have to pay a $100 program fee once you decide to exit the program. In addition to software licenses, participating web development companies will also get discounts on hosting services for their websites, as well as coverage on the upcoming WebsiteSpark portal.

The WebsiteSpark program is available to web design companies around the world, so if you are planning on launching a company or currently run a small company that meets the requirements, WebsiteSpark might just help company save a ton of money in software licenses and you may also get some extra visibility through the various Microsoft portals.

With PowerPoint 2010, you can easily trim unwanted portions of a video clip before inserting it into your presentation. Then you can apply styles like fading edges, 3D rotation, live reflections, etc. to make your videos all the more impressive.

You can recolor videos so that they match the color theme of your other slides. There are options to correct the brightness and contrast parameter of a video but what more exciting is that you can make this changes visually (see screenshot above).

If you want to revert to the original start, just click the “Reset Design” button and it will undo all the video edits.

Download Microsoft Office 2010 Beta

Youve seen all the new features of Office 2010 and now its time to try them on your own computer.

The first public beta of Microsoft Office 2010 is now available as a free download on microsoft.com/office. And other then Office, you can also download Visio 2010 beta and Project 2010 beta for your Windows computer.

This is the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 edition so you get to experience Publisher and Infopath 2010 as well in addition to the regular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook applications.

The Office installer weighs around 700 MB in size but you need around 3 GB of free space on your hard drive for the installation.

You can either upgrade your current version of Microsoft Office to Office 2010 Beta or select the Customize option during installation and set your current version of Microsoft Office to coexist with Office 2010 Beta.

All products require online activation after installation. In case of Office 2010, you can enter the serial number inside Word 2010 and it will automatically activate all other Office applications. Project and Visio will require separate activation since they use a different set of keys.

The beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. And other than English, Office 2010 is available for download in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. ~~Download Microsoft Office 2010 Beta~~

Edit Google Documents Directly in Microsoft Office & Save Your Changes Online

Oudi Antebi, a former marketing manager at Microsoft, has developed an awesome plug-in that turns your copy of Microsoft Office into an offline Google Docs editor. You can save your Office documents directly to Google Docs or directly open your online documents in Microsoft Office programs for reading and writing.

Here a quick tour on how you can integrate Google Docs with Microsoft Office via Offisync.

Step 1: The plugin adds a new toolbar to your Microsoft Office suite of applications (both Office 2003 & Office 2007 are supported). You can then log-in to either Google Docs or your Google Apps Account or both.

Step 2: Once logged-in, you can browse through the list of your existing Google Docs documents from within Microsoft Office as if you were browsing files stored on the local file system.

The plugin implements some sort of a filter so you will only see .doc files inside Word, .xls inside Excel and ppt presentations inside PowerPoint. If you have too may documents in the root folder of Google Docs, you can use the built-in search function to limit that document list to a small set.

Step 3: Now click the document name in Google Docs to open that file in the corresponding Microsoft Office application. A limitation is that you cant download multiple documents from Google Docs in one go

Step 4: If you are editing an existing Google Docs document in Office or need to upload a new document from Microsoft Office to your Google Docs account, simply hit the “Save” button and the modified copy of the document will be saved to your online Google account.

Another advantage is that you can share Google Docs documents with multiple people right from Microsoft Office. Just specify the email addresses of your contacts along with permissions (read-only or read-write).

It cant get easier than this. And since Google Docs now supports the new Open XML format, you can also save Office 2007 format files (pptx, docs, xlsx) via the same plugin.

Office Live Workspaces will also be integrated with Microsoft Office 2010 but until that is released, this plugin is a great choice
