Apple Tablet Rumours

tablet-iphoneEvery tech blog you visit is full of Apple Tablet rumours, iPhone 4G rumours and other Apple stuff. New Tablet rumours show up every day. JUst like any other day, here something Boy Genius reports on their blog.

According to them, they have some leaked details of the iSlate aka Apple Tablet which is rumoured to release in the next Apple event this month.

Well, it you to decide whether they look legitimate or no. Here are the leaked details:

The tablet multi-touch gestures are out of control.
It powered by an incredibly fast ARM CPU
It runs on the iPhone
kernel.
The internal model number is K48AP.
There hasnt been an updated iPhone OS build because there too much tablet-related code/references in the OS and Apple obviously didnt want that to leak. Oops.
The tablet is basically an iPhone on steroids.

Stop Typing, Start Dictating Emails on your iPhone

Nuance, the makers of Dragon NaturallySpeaking (the world most popular voice recognition software), have released a new iPhone App that lets you dictate emails, blog posts, SMS text messages or any other text straight into your iPhone without having to use the keyboard.

Voice Recognition App for iPhone

Called Dragon Dictation, this voice recognition app for your iPhone sports a minimal interface. Just tap the screen and start dictating. Your speech will be recorded and transcribed into text that you can then send as an SMS, email or copy it to the iPhone clipboard and paste into any other iPhone application.

The Dragon Dictation app is available on the iTunes store as a free download for a limited time but only in the US store. That means youll not be able to use the Dragon application if your iTunes account is associated with a non-US address.

To correct any dictated text, you can either top on a word to get a drop-down list of alternative suggestions or you can tap the keyboard icon on the bottom left corner and use the standard iPhone text editing feature.

The voice transcription happens on Nuance servers (and not on your phone) so youll need an active Wi-Fi or 3G data connection to send your recorded voice and receive transcribed text back from Nuance.

Dragon Dictation is available for original iPhone 2G, 3G and the latest iPhone 3Gs but your phone must be running at least iPhone OS 3.1.

The company is also working on a separate voice recognition app for search that will let you search Google, Bing, and other search engines using voice commands. The Google mobile app for iPhone too includes voice recognition capabilities but with Dragon Search, youll be able to search multiple places in one go include YouTube and Twitter.

WordPress 2 for iPhone is now available for download in the App Store. You can now grab it from the App Store and experience blogging in WordPress with lots of new features in WordPress 2.

This app is a completely new app and the previous WordPress for iPhone wont upgrade to WordPress 2.

When you launch the new app, youll immediately see Version 2.0? at the bottom of the screen. When youre no longer using it, you can safely remove the previous version
from your device.

iTunes 9 has just been announced at the Apple Rock and Roll event which is being held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

It was already rumoured that iTunes 9 will be announced at Rock and Roll event, and yes, they have finally done it!

Tons of new features have been introduced which were long wanted by the users and several improvements and enhancements have been made it to the existing features present in iTunes 8.

iPod Nano Fifth Generation Announced

Rock and Roll has been a big disappointment to all those iPod Touch fans who were expecting a camera
in the upcoming Touch lineup, but Apple just unveiled the fifth generation of iPod Nano and that also with a video camera integrated in it.

Well, the rumours of iPods
with video cameras were quite strong and they did prove right, but as for the leaked photos of iPod Touch with a camera have been all fake.

iPod Nano 5G now features a larger 2.2-inch display along with an integrated mic for voice recording
and a speaker. The fifth generation of iPod Nano
comes in amazing eye-catching colours on polished anodized aluminum, making them more appealing than before.

It is also the first iPod to have an FM radio, something fans have been wanting to have for long.

Apple Maps Navigation in iPhone 4G, Really?

Apple coming out with their own Apple/iPhone Maps Navigation application
? Well, Im glad Google did a great job with Google Maps Navigation which was included in Motorola Droid, running on Android 2.0 and now has been added to some devices with Android 1.6.

MacRumors have found a new job listing in Apple for an iPhone
Software Engineerwho will work on the Maps application for iPhone and iPod Touch
.

According to Apple, they want to take the Maps app to the next level and this is what they have to say about it:

We want to take Maps to the next level, rethink how users use Maps and change the way people find things. We want to do this in a seamless, highly interactive and enjoyable way. Weve only just started.

After getting maps navigation in Android, Google would never want to include that in its iPhone Maps app as both the OS are direct competitors. There is a possibility that Apple might want think of dumping the (Google
) Maps app that comes by default on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

There are no words of when such an app would be released, but it could really make it way to iPhone OS 4.0 or the rumoured iPhone 4G.
